Category Labels #
Category Labels in Satori serve as an organizational tool to help manage and categorize your data across various views. By applying Category Labels, you can streamline your workflow, making it easier to locate and group specific sets of data, such as feature flags, live events, messages, and experiments.
What Can Be Labeled #
- Feature Flags: Organize flags based on their relevance to game updates, testing phases, player segments, or specific events.
- Live Events: Tag live in-game events like special promotions, seasonal events, or tournaments for easier tracking and analysis.
- Messages: Group messages sent to players, whether for in-game announcements, offers, or technical updates, by context, audience, or event type.
- Experiments: Apply labels to experiments to track different A/B tests, gameplay changes, or monetization strategies during live ops.
Each item can have multiple Category Labels, allowing you to manage complex and interrelated data sets effectively.
Global Management of Category Labels #
Category Labels are managed centrally under Taxonomy -> Labels within Satori. Because labels are globally managed and cross-category, the same label can be used across multiple elements, for instance, a “Holiday Event” label can be applied to both live events and feature flags tied to that specific event.
Practical Use Cases #
- Event-Specific Labeling: Suppose you’re running a limited-time event like a “Halloween Challenge”. You can create a Category Label called “Halloween 2024” and assign it to feature flags controlling in-game mechanics, live events driving player engagement, and any player messages or announcements tied to the event.
- Audience-Specific Labeling: For player segmentation, you might have different offers or content depending on the player’s progression or spending habits. Labels like “VIP Players” or “New Players” can help you quickly identify and filter content or events targeted toward these segments.
- Monetization Experiments: You can tag all A/B tests or experiments related to monetization efforts with a label such as “Monetization_2024_Q1” to easily track their impact across the live game environment.
By leveraging Category Labels, you can keep your live operations organized and adaptable, helping you respond quickly to player behaviors, test new features, and manage ongoing in-game events.
