Team Leaderboards
Team Leaderboards bring the Leaderboards system to team-based play. Instead of individual players competing, teams compete as units: members contribute scores individually, and the team’s total determines its ranking.
Everything in the base system applies to Teams, including regional leaderboards and tournament support. See Leaderboards for a full overview of how the system works.
What teams can do #
- List: View available team leaderboards, optionally filtered by category.
- Get: Retrieve a specific team leaderboard, including team standings, scores, and individual member contributions.
- ListScores: Retrieve a list of team scores for a specific team leaderboard.
- ListScoresAroundTeam: Retrieve a list of team scores for a specific team leaderboard around the caller’s team.
- Update: Submit scores as individual team members, contributing to the team’s total.
Key terms #
Individual contributions: While teams compete as units, each member’s score contributions are tracked separately. This lets you recognize top contributors and ensures team scores reflect actual member participation.
Example: Boss speedrun #
Players race to defeat a boss as fast as possible, then submit their completion time to the team leaderboard. Each team’s best time ranks it against the others.
Everyone can see which player set the top score for each team, giving that player prestige and encouraging others to beat their time and represent their team.
