Audit log

The audit log is a complete, tamper-evident record of every user action performed in your organization. Use it for security investigations, change tracking, compliance reviews, and operational troubleshooting.

Overview #

Heroic Cloud logs every meaningful action: resource creation and deletion, configuration changes, deployments, scaling events, permission changes, billing updates, and more. Each entry records who performed the action, what changed, and when. Audit data is available at two levels: organization-wide and per-resource.

What gets logged #

Heroic Cloud records every action that modifies state. This includes:

  • Resource lifecycle such as creating, updating, deleting, and transferring deployments, builders, and titles.
  • Deployment operations such as image deploys, rolling reboots, scaling changes, and data exports.
  • Builder activity such as build triggers, configuration changes, and repository updates.
  • User and team management such as invitations, permission changes, and team membership updates.
  • Billing events such as payment method changes and plan updates.
  • Organization changes such as name edits and SSO configuration updates.

Categories #

Each log entry is tagged with a category: Organization Title, Organization User, Organization Billing, Nakama Deployment, Nakama Deployment Transfer, Nakama Builder, Nakama Builder Trigger, Nakama Builder Configuration, Nakama Builder Transfer, or Satori Deployment.

Actions #

Each entry also records an action type: Create, Update, Delete, Transfer, Add, Reboot, or Export.

Log entry format #

Each entry includes:

  • Timestamp of when the action occurred.
  • Event type combining the category and action (for example, “Nakama Deployment Update”).
  • Metadata in JSON format, including the actor’s email, the affected resource name, and relevant details such as image names, configuration values, or scaling tier changes.

Organization-level audit #

The organization-level audit log captures actions across all titles and resources. Search by keyword and filter by category and action type.

Deployment-level audit #

Each Nakama deployment and builder has its own scoped audit log, so you can see the full history of a single deployment without filtering through organization-wide activity.

Retention #

Audit log data is retained for 3 months. After this period, entries are no longer available in the dashboard. If you need longer retention for compliance or internal review, export your audit data before it expires.
