Heroic Labs Announces Satori 2.0
Announcing Satori 2.0: Elevating Live Operations for Games
We’re thrilled to announce the release of Satori 2.0, a major update that introduces a host of new features designed to enhance the live operations experience for game studios and publishers.
From Sergei Vasiuk, Director of LiveOps at Wargaming about Satori 2.0:
"Satori is brilliant. A highly sophisticated and scalable LiveOps product to personalise player experiences without the need to constantly engage the engineering team.
If you are looking to build a live services game I would highly recommend exploring it."
Here’s a detailed look at what’s new:
Redesigned User Interface
- Live Ops Operator Centric UI: Redesigned from scratch with feedback from industry leaders such as Supercell, Bandai Namco, and Wargaming. The new interface focuses on ease of use, allowing live operations teams to efficiently manage and execute their tasks without the need for extensive training or adjustments.
- First-class monetization features: Addition of first-class monetization templates for Dynamic Pricing, Timed Offers and much more directly in the dashboard.
New Features
- Timeline View: Visualize all planned activities, including experiments and live events, in 1-week, 2-week, or 4-week chunks alongside scheduled messages. This centralized view helps teams coordinate better, ensuring that all events and communications are perfectly timed and aligned with overall strategies.
- Key Metrics Integration: View essential metrics in conjunction with your timeline activities for a comprehensive overview. Metrics like player engagement, retention rates, and revenue impact are now readily accessible, allowing for data-driven decision-making directly within the timeline interface.
- Enhanced Audience Creation: Use the new audience form builder to select inclusion criteria directly within the UI, eliminating the need for manual queries. This feature streamlines the process of targeting specific player segments, making it quicker and easier to set up personalized experiences and A/B tests.
- Retention Graphing: Monitor user retention from day 1 to day 30 with the new retention graphs. This feature provides a clear visual representation of player retention trends, helping teams identify patterns and optimize their strategies to improve long-term engagement.
Labels and Categories: Group relevant resources together and easily manage them using a global filter. This addition helps operators keep their dashboard organized, enabling quick access to related experiments, events, and messages based on predefined categories and labels.
Integration with Hiro: Seamlessly override Hiro resources in Satori via experiments, feature flags, or live events. This integration allows for more dynamic and responsive game configurations, enabling live ops teams to adjust game elements in real-time based on player behavior and feedback.
- About Hiro: Hiro is a game development kit that enhances Unity and Unreal games with features like virtual stores, rewarded video ads, and social functionalities, all integrated with the Nakama server. This integration provides a powerful toolkit for building and managing complex game economies and social systems.
Remote Sync Configuration: Now a built-in feature, allowing you to sync configurations across different Satori environments effortlessly. This capability ensures consistency across development, staging, and production environments, reducing the risk of errors and streamlining the deployment process.
Satori 2.0 continues to expand on:
- Feature Flags: Easily toggle features on or off for different player segments to test new functionalities or roll out updates gradually.
- Remote Configurations: Adjust game settings and parameters remotely without requiring a new client update, ensuring a seamless player experience.
- Experiments: Conduct A/B tests and multivariate experiments to determine the most effective strategies for player engagement and monetization.
- Live Calendar Events: Schedule and manage live events to keep players engaged and excited about upcoming content.
- Metrics: Access detailed analytics to measure the performance of experiments, events, and other live operations.
- Messaging: Communicate with players through Apple/Google push notifications, Nakama in-app messaging, and OneSignal integration, ensuring timely and relevant messaging.
- Taxonomy: Set up schemas and validators for all input data to maintain data integrity and consistency.
- Datalake Adapters: Integrate with BigQuery and Snowflake to offload data in real-time from Satori, enabling advanced data analysis and reporting.
Satori 2.0 is now available via the Heroic Cloud. This update marks a significant step forward in live operations management, empowering game studios to deliver even more personalized and engaging experiences to their players.
